Taking an order is only part of the job. A shop also needs to pack it, arrange collection and keep the customer informed. Doing all of that alone takes time and money.
We put online ordering, order management and local delivery together, so an independent business can offer a practical service to people nearby.

Our delivery fleet consists entirely of electric cargo bikes, with no petrol or diesel delivery vehicles. These are SendSimply’s own bikes, working on local journeys in and around Colchester.
Electric bikes have no exhaust emissions in use and are quieter and smaller than combustion delivery vehicles. Charging, manufacturing and maintenance still have impacts. We do not claim a measured city-wide emissions saving.

Hyperlocal logistics is quite literal here: shorter routes between local businesses and customers, supported by software we build ourselves.

Customers browse and buy from a nearby business online. The shop manages its products and prepares the order.
We collect it
A courier picks up the order. Where practical, nearby deliveries can be grouped into a sensible short route.
An electric cargo bike delivers
The customer can follow its progress in a browser. No app download is needed.
Colchester is growing. Its streets aren’t getting wider.
More homes and businesses mean more local purchases and journeys. On short, suitable trips, a cargo bike can carry an order without adding another van to a busy street.

When a bike replaces a short van trip, it can help ease pressure on roads and kerbsides.

Most deliveries are discussed at national scale. Our starting point is smaller: what can a shop sell to somebody a few streets away, and what is the most sensible way to get it there?
As more nearby businesses and customers use a local service, shorter routes and grouped orders could make operations more efficient. That route density is an opportunity to work towards, not a return we can promise.
